Women protest against ”tampon taxes”

A question which me and my friends always ask is:
”Why do i have to pay for period pads and tampons? I didn’t even choose to bleed down there once a month!”

As it seems though some men don’t realise how unfair it is to be paying so much over something that should be for free, and they decided to label it as s ”luxurious item”.
Charlie Edge, a 22-year-old from Berkshire, England, and a friend of hers Ruth Howarth protested outside Parliament while wearing white pants showing to the world how disgusting periods really are.
In a Facebook post, Charlie wrote: “Everyone keeps saying ‘haha omg how quickly would we get free tampons if everyone stopped wearing them?!’ So, I’m giving it a go.”

“I think it’s important to note that this isn’t just a women’s issue – not all women have periods and not all people with periods are women,” she said. “But all the hate I’m getting is based in sexism.”
”We are literally being taxed for menstruating. How would you feel if you were taxed on the disposal of sperm?
Every time you released sperm. Every. Time.”

”Taxes are necessary, i get it.
So are tampons/ pads.”

Later on Charlie posted about the people’s reactions during their “bloody protest”:

It’s unhygienic
It’s such a stupid thing to get upset about
It’s gross
I’m sure there’s a better way to get your point across

red glitterI would say that there is no other way to show to the ”big heads” the size of the problem if they don’t face it themselves.
So here we go world, now you know exactly how it will look like if a woman can’t afford this ”oh-so luxurious” object.

I have to agree with the young ladies, I am so glad that there are still some women out there standing up for their rights.
I think in a world where everything is based on our sex and looks, we really have to show to the world that we aren’t as ”perfect” as magazines and TV shows want men to think.
We are women, we are humans and we do have needs!
So if you don’t want us to walk around leaving stains on the ground or your sofas you really should reconsider this.

“We might do it again but I’m a bit overwhelmed by how quickly this went viral so I’m waiting to see how it pans out before we plan stage 2,” she said.
